"The purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal fulfillment, your peace of mind, or even your happiness. It's far greater than your family, your career, or even your wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God. You were born by his purpose and for his purpose". The Purpose Driven Life-- P.17

Muir Woods
Muir Woods is such a therapeutic place for me. I feel so at peace and calm walking through these majestic trees. They are so old and big and beautiful. I loved taking E and E there, they had a lot of fun.

Dogs vs. The Beach
After Muir Woods my mother in law and I took the kids to the beach for a picnic. Ethan loves going to the beach, he loves to run and splash and get dirty. Liza, not so much. She was having fun with the dogs and her stick. She wouldn't even let grandma take her close to the water. She was the same way in Hawaii until she saw big brother play in the water she followed. This time, she was content... A girl and her dogs. I did eventually pick her up and take her to a small area of water that other kids were playing in and then she was comfortable. Then I had to carry her away screaming her head off to get her to leave. Everyday that we were there after that she would put her hands up and say "I go to beach" My little angel...

Castello Di Amorosa
A great winery to visit is Castillo di Amorosa in Napa Valley. It is located towards the northern side of Napa Valley. It's a replicate of a Medieval castle - supposedly it cost $37 million to build & it truly is amazing. Trig and I took a tour and tasted some wines that were full of flavor. It was a perfect day except I had hope that we would stumble upon the 2009 HGTV Dream Home in Sonoma. The address was not available so we pretty much would have had to drive all around looking for it. I know that I will see it someday when they come knocking on my door to tell me that I am the winner..... :) We had a delcious lunch at Tra Vitte and relaxed in the warm sun..It was such a great day just the two of us.

An Afternoon in the City..
The first time I went to San Francisco was in 1995 with a group of friends. We went to Coit Tower, rode the Cable Cars, went to Alcatraz, did the wharf etc. etc. etc. Ever since the in-laws moved there is 2002 I have visited many times but never really did all of the touristy things. This time we did..with Ethan and Eliza. Trig never really wants to take the kids because it's such a hassle but I demanded. :) We took them on the ferry boat from Sausalito to the ferry building. We went to Ghiradelli Square for ice cream, we walked on the pier and took a cable car to Union Square. The weather was beautiful, highs in the 60's sunny and gorgeous.

Aquarium at Golden Gate Park
My mother-in-law bought a membership to the Academy of Sciences Museum. We took the kids one day into the city to see the aquarium. It was much more than just that. They had a tropical rainforest in glass dome with birds and butterflies and amazing plants. Liza loved the butterflies and could have stayed all day. Later we went to see all of the sea life and took some beautiful pictures...

Christmas 2008
The Salt Lake Gullberg's had a pretty low key Holiday. My mom came up from Price and Amy's husband Malcolm was here which made it a special little holiday. The kids got a Wii Santa figured it was something the whole family could do and be a little more active than xbox... Video Games VANISH!!! I love Christmas but I wish it wasn't all about gifts and presents and spending so much money.. Maybe one year I will try it and see how popular I am.. ha ha. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa and Stacy and Scott for everything.. as you can see Ethan loves his lego race cars!!! Peace be with you and yours in 2009!!!!
