It's been two weeks since it happened and I still cannot stop thinking about it. Maybe if I write it down the feelings will dissipate. So Daybreak Elementary had their first annual Fun Run. The kids collected pledges and received tickets to be entered into a drawing during the awards ceremony. Eliza and I went on the run with Ethan and then went home while Ethan went to the awards ceremony. He asked if he was going to get a prize and I told him not to get his hopes up. About an hour passed and I get a call from a friend saying...."Your never going to believe what just happened" Ethan's name was the first one drawn out of the whole elementary school. He goes up on stage and gets to pick from the following prizes among others. A bike, digital camera, Wii Fit, Ipod, hockey sticks, tennis racquets, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. What does the kid choose, you got it...a green rubber ball. UUGGGGGHHHHHHHHH I was so mad that no one helped him, his teacher or the women up on stage pointing the prizes out. How could they let him pick a ball and what was Ethan thinking, poor little guy was just so overwhelmed. He came home from school with this green ball and a huge smile on his face. It took all I had to hold back the tears, I'm still trying to figure out if they were tears of joy or just the opposite. Either way Ethan was so proud and I just big my tongue and played ball with him....Ay Carumba..
